Health Kentucky's
success in helping the indigent access free
health care has had a positive influence
on other states. Using the Kentucky model,
Arkansas, Georgia and South Carolina have
implemented similar statewide programs for
their citizens. In addition, the program
has been replicated in 40 communities in
24 other states.

Care Access Foundation was founded in 1989
and has served more than 65,000 Arkansans.

South Carolina's
Commun-I-Care Program
Commun-I-Care was
established in 1993 as an answer to the
growing crisis of providing health care
for South Carolina's working poor. Commun-I-Care
has enrolled 25,000 South Carolinians in
its program.
