Kentucky Physicians Care Program
The Kentucky Physicians Care Program consists of more than 1,200 physicians across the state who voluntarily agree to accept patient referrals from eligible patients. They treat these patients at no charge. More than 500 primary care physicians participate. The Kentucky Physicians Care Program was established in 1984 and is co-sponsored by the Kentucky Medical Association.
Kentucky Pharmacy Providers Program
The Kentucky Pharmacy Providers Program combines products from pharmaceutical companies with patient education provided by pharmacists. More than 300 pharmacies across Kentucky fill prescriptions for eligible patients at no cost. Abbott Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson, Merck and Pfizer donate the medications. The Kentucky Pharmacy Providers Program was established in July 1990 and is co-sponsored by the Kentucky Pharmacists Association.
